The firm & the principal

A consultancy built around one engineer's judgement.

Applied Environmental Management, Inc. (AEM) is an environmental engineering consulting firm providing business and industry with reliable, quality, value-driven solutions for properties with contaminated media.

What the client is actually buying.

AEM partners with each client to address the environmental conditions specific to their site, providing leadership and strategic direction drawn from broad experience, sound science, practical engineering and best management practice.

In practice that means one thing a larger firm struggles to offer: the engineer who reviews your data is the engineer who signs the report, negotiates with the regulator, and — if the matter reaches a courtroom — sits for the deposition. Nothing is delegated down a chain and re-explained back up it.

The methods are not proprietary opinion. Across 37 papers, chapters and conference presentations, the analytical and remedial approaches AEM applies have been published and peer-reviewed — which is a materially different position to defend than an in-house rule of thumb.
